Partnerships

Inviragen has an innovative business model that emphasizes global collaboration and partnerships to bring its novel vaccines to the worldwide marketplace. Inviragen licensed dengue and West Nile vaccine technology from the Division of Vector-Borne Infectious Diseases of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and has active collaborations with both CDC and Colorado State University (CSU) scientists. Inviragen is a member of the Rocky Mountain Regional Center of Excellence (RMRCE) for Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Disease Research. Inviragen is collaborating with leading infectious disease researchers at University of Wisconsin for preclinical testing of Inviragen vaccines.

Inviragen has built an international consortium of scientists to accelerate the preclinical and clinical testing of its dengue vaccine, DENVax. Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)-quality supplies of DENVax were produced by Shantha Biotechnics Ltd, in Hyderabad, India. Preclinical testing of DENVax was performed through collaborations with the CDC and University of Wisconsin. Clinical testing and introduction of DENVax is being facilitated by a strategic partnership with the Pediatric Dengue Vaccine Initiative (PDVI). PDVI, a program of the International Vaccine Institute headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, has been funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation and the government of the Republic of Korea. The PDVI's mission is to ensure access to dengue vaccines in developing countries. For clinical testing of DENVax, Inviragen is collaborating with leading researchers at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID, a division of the National Institutes of Health), St. Louis University, Universidad de Antioquia (Colombia), and Duke/National University of Singapore.

Inviragen's collaborations will significantly speed the development of emerging infectious disease vaccines. Inviragen's international partners will facilitate the manufacturing and introduction of the vaccines where they are needed most.
